Preventative medicine and a special interest in pediatric and newborn care.
Provided free preventative care for low income community members, organized and participated in local health fairs, and provided free school physicals for children in local schools. Service chair of society of multicultural medicine during undergrad and set up shadowing opportunities for students interested in medicine.
Outside of work, Dr. Vanapala enjoys playing tennis, acrylic painting, reading books of various genres, and watching foreign films. She is an only child and has a Pomeranian named Simba. Dr. Vanapala is a fan of alternative music and a couple of her favorite groups include Maroon 5 and One Republic. She has done extensive volunteer work in her prior communities and travels. Her favorite travel destination to date is Iceland and would love to eventually travel to New Zealand. With her extensive knowledge and enthusiasm, Dr. Vanapala is excited to contribute to FPCA and looks forward to serving the Frederick community for many years to come.
