Preventive medicine, adolescent health
Alissa spent her early years in Germany and moved to Maryland when she was 7. She attended Swarthmore College, earning a degree in psychology and education. She was fortunate to travel on a medical mission trip to the Dominican Republic and felt honored to make dentures! A circuitous route led her to become a Physician Assistant, after spending several years working for both a psychiatric program and doing research at the National Institutes of Health. Alissa enjoys preventive medicine and helping patients manage (or better yet prevent!) chronic health conditions. She has 2 daughters who are wonderfully curious and energetic. Alissa enjoys having adventures and making memories with her family, traveling, gardening, going to football games, and reading.
